Summer Horse Camps
Few things are better for the young horse lovers soul, than spending a beautiful summer day on the central coast entirely with horses! Here at LRRS we offer 1 to 3-day week day and weekend horse camps for young riders of all disciplines and riding levels the opportunity to increase their knowledge on the animals they love. We believe that having a well rounded approach and good horsemanship starts from the ground up, and that there is so much more to the connections between horse and rider than just a saddle and bit in the horse’s mouth. Our summer horse camps allow for education on all things horses, in a fun and safe outdoor environment.
Each camp will begin with learning the basics that will cover:
*History of the horse from workhorses to competition horses
*Grooming & caring for the horse
*Nutrition, anatomy, basic vet care & ER kit
*English & Western riding
*Barn duties & daily chores
*How to make a saddle & leather work
*From the farrier: Hoof anatomy, care and shoeing options
*Roping & the use of the horse on a cattle operation
*Carrot stretches for horses, Yoga for riders
*Saddle fit and important considerations
Pricing
Half Day: $300/ea from 9-12pm
Full Day: $450/ea from 9-3pm
Newcomer Camp (ages 5-9)
Advanced Camp (instructor approval required)
